The Scott Bauhs Invitational High School cross country meet was held at Shadow Cliffs in Pleasanton, California on a bright sunny day. Lot’s of schools in attendance, tons of athletes and plenty of enthusiastic spectators were on hand.
I was at the race to primarily photograph Liberty High School runners, but as always, took a few extra’s. The weather could not have been better, low 80’s (Fahrenheit), parking had easy access and plenty to be found, and the course layout was superb.
In cross country races the athletes take off from the starting line and typically run into the woods, or countryside, not to be seen again until they reappear coming down the home stretch toward the finish line, which happens to be the same spot as the starting line. This particular race had a couple of spots on the course that spectators could get to and watch runners go by during the middle of the race. A real added treat!
